Heather Hanks, NBCT, PMP, is an assistant principal at Plant City High School in Florida. She has taught a variety of subjects over the past 13 years, including computer science, robotics, journalism, photography and social media. She’s helping launch the district’s pilot eSports program, and serves as a Code.org faciliator in partnership with the Tampa Bay STEM Network. She served as the first president of the Hillsborough NBCT Network, started the district’s first EdCamp, and founded a 501(c)3 non-profit for her previous school. She served as one of 40 teacher leaders as a Florida Teacher Leader Fellow with the UF Lastinger Center, and is currently serving as an ASCD Emerging Leader, class of 2018, and in Leadership Florida’s Education Class IV.
